Red Bank Register - November 16, 1927. "Mrs. Lavinia S. DeWitt of Prospect Ave., wife of the late Nelson DeWitt of Rowlands, PA, died on Monday morning from a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. DeWitt was 80 years old and she lived in Red Bank since the death of her husband four years ago. She leaves 6 children: Mrs. J.W. Chamberlain, Mrs. Iva Gunsten, Mrs. F.R. Brink and Harry J DeWitt of Rowlands and Alonzo and Irving DeWitt of Red Bank, She is also survived by a sister Mrs. C.A. Beardsley of Milford, PA. The funeral was held at her late home. The body was then taken by automobile in charge of R.R. Mount & Son to Rowlands where the burial will tke place."
