Oliver Tedy Baird, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, October 19, 2003, at White Oak Estates.

A native of McKeesport, PA, son of the late Albert Baird (1887-1969) and Aida (Bott) Baird (1889–1958); husband of Catherine Jean Duffy Baird (1924-2006) for 61 years.

Attended Penn State University, retired from Arrow Automotive as National Sales Manager, was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #28, the Lions Club, a life member of the OSS Society, the Warbird Association, and was invited to the 50th anniversary of the CIA, and was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II in the European Theatre where he received seven Bronze Stars.

Survivors also include his daughter, Joyce Baird Bagnal (Richard); sons, Dane Edward Baird (Joella), Charles A. Baird (Polly Clemo), and Michael Baird (Eileen); eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2003, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel with the Rosary starting at 5:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church conducted by Rev. Michael R. DeAntonio; burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials could be made to Lutheran Hospice, Greer, SC; or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, Spartanburg, SC.
