Elector and Duke of Bavaria 1626-1651. His parents were Duke Wilhelm V of Bavaria and Duchess Rènée von Lothringen (Lorraine). He married the Austrian Arch-duchess Maria Anna, Daughter of the emperor Ferdinand II. The couple had one son, the elector Ferdinand Maria.
