FLORENCE PEARL (RANKIN) SPICHER

HOMESTEADER

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles R. (Florence) Spicher were conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hingham Lutheran church. She was a former resident of the Hingham area, but had moved to Missoula several years ago and died there.

Mrs. Spicher was born February 26, 1883, in Pennsylvania and was married to Charles R. Spicher in 1907. Three years later, they came to Montana and homesteaded near Hingham where they lived and farmed until 1945 when they retired and moved to Missoula. Mr. Spicher died in 1954.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. John (Fern) Flanagan of Windham; five sons, Rodney, George, and Richard, all of Hingham; Clement of Missoula; and Robert, a Captain in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Pensacola, Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Kiel of Missoula; Mrs. Carl Breidel of Hingham; and Mrs. Mary McLaughlin of Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Spicher was a past noble grand of the Hingham Rebekah Lodge, but had transferred her membership to the Rebekah Lodge at Missoula after she and her husband established their home there.
