He was the son of the late Paul J., Sr., and Mae Griffith Ortity.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers, New Cumberland, and retired from the Air National Guard, Unit 271, Indiantown Gap.
He was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Prince Edwins Lodge F&AM, both of Middletown; and American Legion Post #272, Linglestown.
He enjoyed motorcycling and car repairing.
Surviving is his wife, Delores M. Lau Ortity; son, Steven A., husband of Karen Ortity of Bainbridge; two daughters, Karen M., wife of Michael McKillip and Anita A., wife of Ben G. Housman, Jr., both of Middletown; two sisters, Agnes Hayman of LaGrange, IL and Virginia Lawyer of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, in Seven Sorrows Church, Race & Conewago Streets, Middletown.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Viewings will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday, at the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
