J.F. EISENHOWER, S. WALNUT AVENUE, DIES
Former Resident of Cedarville; Funeral Held Today
Jonathan Franklin Eisenhower passed away at his home, 310 South Walnut Avenue, Sunday at 5:30 P.M. Mr. Eisenhower was born April 30, 1859, in Pennsylvania. He was united in marriage to Sarah R. Confer of Cedarville on November 8, 1882. He was engaged in the occupation of farming, having lived in the vicinity of Cedarville for many years. Mr. Eisenhower was preceded in death by an infant son on July 31, 1889: one sister, Mary R., and one brother, William H., who was in the Civil war, having been wounded in the battle of Champion Hill on May 16, 1863, his death taking place the next day.
He leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends who shall greatly miss him. for his friendly manner had endeared him to the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Eisenhower, and the following children; Mrs. Saloma Kniss, William F. Eisenhower, Mary M. Eisenhower, and John Eisenhower all of Freeport; Mrs. J. H. Smull, Beloit, Wis., and Mrs. H. W. Long, also of Beloit. he also leaves twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Decedent was a member of the Methodist church of Cedarville.
Private funeral services were held at the family home this afternoon at 2:30 0'clock, and interment was made on the family lot in the Cedarville cemetery. Services were Conducted by Rev. Mr. Winebremer and Rev. Mr. Collins.
