Mrs. Rose Zahorik, 67, operator and owner of the Zahorik general store and
tavern at Taus, this county, died suddenly of a heart attack Wednesday morning.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m Saturday at the Saur funeral home,
Kellnersville and at 9:30 at the St. Joseph Catholic church, Kellnersville.
The Rev. Frank Svatek will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery,
Manitowoc.
She was born Rose Sauer in Franklin in 1884 and in 1906 as married to Frank
Zahorik. They operated a farm and cheese factory in Franklin for several years
and 24 years ago took over the store and tavern in Taus. Mr. Zahorik died 16
years ago. She was a member of the Rosary society of St. Joseph congregation.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Haas Jr., of Taus; brother, Frank and
sister, Mrs. Thomas Kostechka, of route 2, Cato; stepsister, Mrs. Anna Hill
of Manitowoc; four grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday where the rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
