ILL FEW DAYS, RECOVERS, RETURNS TO WORK, RELAPSE AND DEATH IS END FOR YOUNG GIRL
Miss Elsa Zabel, Aged 16, Dies Suddenly as Result of Paralysis of Heart.
Was at Work at Salak's Monday
A severe cold which developed tonsolitis (sic) and a relapse which she suffered
a week later after having recovered, caused the death early this morning of Miss
Elsa Zabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zabel, 107 N. Fifth street. Death was
due to paralysis of the heart and was sudden, the condition of the patient having
been favorable to recovery.
The death of Miss Zabel is pathetically sad and the sympathy of the community
goes out to the bereaved family. The decedent was but 16 years of age, having
been born in this city Sept. 26, 1898 and had always made her home here. She
had been employed as a clerk at the Charles Salak company store and was at work
Monday, having insisted upon returning to her duties after the illness of few
days. After working but one day Miss Zabel was compelled to again remain at home
and the relapse which she suffered caused her death.
Besides her parents, Miss Zabel is survived by two brothers, John and Fred of
this city and two sisters, Mrs. F. Krues, of Beloit and Mrs. Ida McKinzie, of
Milwaukee.
The funeral will be held from the home at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon to the First
Norwegian church, Rev. Boyd officiating.
