Mrs. Joseph J. (Mary J.) Yanda, 92, formerly of Route 1, Whitelaw, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, at Holy Family Skilled Nursing Facility, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arthur C. Senn will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Yanda, nee Mary Naidl, was born Dec. 18, 1886, in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Wachal Naidl. She was raised and educated in the Town of Franklin and was married to Joseph J. Yanda Jan. 20, 1909, at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death March 15, 1953. Mrs. Yanda was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph G. and Evelyn Yanda of Manitowoc; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mrs. Edward (Mae) Tisler and Marcella and Victor Shavlik of Whitelaw, Agnes and Raymond Nesper and Anna and Elmer Troullier of Manitowoc; three brothers, Edward Naidl of Branch, Charles Naidl of Manitowoc and Jake Naidl of Whitelaw; a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Shavlik of Two Rivers, 21 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. An infant son, four brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church after 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
