Mrs. Albert Worel, ____ , 709 State St., Manitowoc, died late Friday afternoon
following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, the Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery.
She was born Anna Gruber, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Gruber, in
Bohemia, May 17, 1872, as a child she came to this country with her parents,
settling in the Town of Gibson in Manitowoc County. During 1891 she was married
to Mr. Worel in Gibson and the couple moved to Manitowoc where Mr. Worel was
engaged in operating the Worel Hardware Co. He died in 1942(sic) Mrs. Worel was
a member of the Western Bohemian Assn. and was an active member of the First
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Walter Weber of Miami, Fla.; son, Reginald
of Manitowoc; three brothers: Peter of Green Bay, Joseph of Antigo and Dr. John
Gruber of Racine; two sisters, Miss Emma Gruber of Racine and Mrs. Barbara
Podrabsky of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by two sons, Chester and Charles, and a daughter, Mrs. Violet
Schu____
