Anton Teteak, 78, for many years conductor and motorman on the Manitowoc-Two
Rivers electric interurban line, died Thursday noon at the home of his son,
Fred, at Cicero, Ill., where he had been visiting since last fall. He suffered
a stroke Thursday morning.
The body was brought to Manitowoc today and is lying in state at the Wattawa,
Urbanek & Schlei funeral home where funeral services will be conducted by the
C.Z.B.J. lodge Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will take place in
Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Teteak was born at Kewaunee May 1, 1863. Fifty-three years ago he married
Miss Mary Suchan and they resided in Chicago for six years before establishing
their home here. Mr. Teteak assisted in the construction of the trolley line
between this city and Two Rivers and when it was put in operation he became a
motorman and conductor, working until buses replaced the cars.
Mrs. Teteak died four years ago. The survivors are three sons, Fred of Cicero,
Albert of Los Angeles and George of this city, one daughter, Miss Helen of
Cicero, one sister, Mrs. Emma Lyons of Oconto and five grandchildren.
