Charles Tegge, 88, of 1301 Manila St., Manitowoc died Friday afternoon at Holy
Family Hospital, following a stroke.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral home,
the Rev. Vernon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Tegge was born Sept. 18, 1873 at Eagle Po, Ontario, Canada, son of the late
Carl and Johanna Tegge Tegge(sic). On Nov. 20, 1902 he married Hulda Bruss at
Morrison, Wis. They settled at Reedsville, then moved to Manitowoc in 1906?.
Mr. Tegge was employed at Manitowoc Boiler Works until 1920 when he became a city
employe, retiring in 1950. His wife preceded him in death March 3, 1952.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Sweetman of Manitowoc and Mrs. Fred
Wiegert of Reedsville, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Three sisters
and three brothers also preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
