Gustav Tegen, 85, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, retired farmer, died at the farm home,
now operated by his son, Eldon, Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rockwood Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Edward Zell will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
He was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany in 1869, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
John Tegen, and at the age of 13 came alone to this country making his home with
the family of the late Joachim Meyer. In 1899 he married Miss Emma Mathias and
they located on a farm six miles north of Manitowoc. Since retiring he had lived
with his son, Eldon. ??? wife died ten years ago.
Surviving are four sons, Norman of Independence, Iowa, Harold of Tampa, Fla.,
Walter of Strawberry Point, Iowa, and Eldon of Rt. 2, Manitwooc ; three brothers,
Rudolph, August and John of Fond du Lac, nine grandchildren and three great grand-
children.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after Thursday
noon. The casket will be moved to the church at 9 a.m. Friday.
