Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 30, 1999, at First
German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Bruce Bitter will officiate
with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Kermit was born January 18, 1909, in the town of Eaton, Wis., son of the
late August and Josephine Kautzer Schwalbe. He married Laura I. Wiegert
on November 5, 1931, in Valders. Mrs. Schwalbe preceded him in death on
July 7, 1985. Kermit worked for Schuette Bros. Department Store for 15
years. He retired in 1971 as the manager of the Appliance department. He
then worked part-time for Schuettes until he was 75 years old. He was a
member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn (Wayne) Avery, Milwaukee; one
daughter-in-law, Bernice Schwalbe, Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Scott
Avery, Glenn (Michele) Avery, Jason Schwalbe; also other relatives and
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son,
Gary Schwalbe; one granddaughter, Linda Avery; one sister; and four
brothers.
Friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 11
a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the Schwalbe
family with funeral arrangements.
