Charles Ruether, 85, formerly of Rt. 6, Sawyer, died early Thursday morning at
Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Martin Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Ruether was born Feb. 25, 1871, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late
Henry and Caroline Schwartz Ruether. He married Elizabeth Klein July 1, 1893,
and the couple lived at Two Rivers until 1898 when it moved to a farm east of
Maplewood, Door County. She died in 1946.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Mable) Peterson, Mrs. Charles
(Regina) Leider and Miss Ronita Ruether, of Manitowoc, six grandchildren, 12
great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Three brothers and a
sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, after 2
p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the body will be moved to the church
to lie in state until time of service.
