STRICKEN AS MOTHER DIES, PASSES AWAY
Called to Marshfield two weeks ago by the serious illness of her mother who
later passed away there, Mrs. Isadore Porteland(sic), 1708 New York avenue,
this city, was stricken by pneumonia and claimed by death in that city yesterday.
Mrs. Porteland suffered an attack of influenza and pneumonia developed and she
survived but a short time, news of her death being a great shock to relatives
and friends.
Mrs. Porteland was 55 years of age and was born at Marshfield. She is survived
by her husband and one daughter Celia in this city. Mrs. Porteland was a member
of the Sacred Heart society.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed but the body will arrive here this
evening.
