IDA PHALEN
Mrs. John H. Phalen, 91, of 1319 Columbus St., Manitowoc, died Saturday morning
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient for a month.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The
Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Phalen was born March 17, 1875, at Manitowoc, the former Ida Walters,
daughter of the late Charles and Sophia Ludwig Walters. She was married to Mr.
Phalen July 28, 1898, and he operated a plumbing business at Manitowoc. He
preceded her in death in 1949. She was a member of First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
She is survived by two sons, Harvey and John C., both of Manitowoc, and 15
grandchildren. Two daughters, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in
death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Monday. The casket will remain
closed.
