CHARLES D. PETERSON (d. 1991)

Charles D. Peterson, 69, of 1501 Orchard Drive, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Friday, April 5, 1991, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. William Plank with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery.
He was born March 22, 1922, at Calumet, Mich., son of the late Charles A. and
Anita Laihti Peterson. He was a graduate of Holly Michigan High School in 1940.
He served with the United States Navy during World War II overseas. After
returning from the Navy, he attended the Ford Motor Company Trade School in
Detroit, Mich., receiving a Tool and Die Associate Degree. In 1949, he became
employed with AC Spark Plug a Division of General Motors in Milwaukee. In 1958,
he moved to Manitowoc and became employed with Eck Industries as Vice President
of Engineering. He became semi-retired in 1967, but still held a consulting
capacity with Eck Industries and also with Duralcan U.S.A. in San Diego, Calif.
He married Marilyn Byrum, April 15, 1960, in Marinette, Wis. He was a member
of First Presbyterian Church, where he had previously served as an Elder of
the church. He was also very active with many automotive and foundry business
organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael C. and
Jessica Peterson of Castle Rock, Colo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and
Timothy Gasaway of Everett, Wash.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mayme
and Howard Cascaddan of Flint, Mich., Syrene and John Addis of Milford, Mich.,
and Sandra Regelbrugge of Matthew, N.C.; a grandson, Kevin Gasaway; nieces,
nephews; other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday
and on Tuesday after 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
