August Pentzien, 58, died at his home, 1215 Huron street, at 8:45 o'clock
Friday night. A carpenter by trade, illness prevented Mr. Pentzien from
following this line of work for a number of years.
He was born July 10, 1880 in Carlton, Kewaunee county, and came to Manitowoc
at the age of 18. He remained here for the rest of his life. He married Mary
Fliegel March 10, 1904. The survivors are the widow, two daughters, Mrs.
James Hoff of Genesceo, Ill., and Doris, at home; one son, William, Chicago;
two brothers, Louis, Omaha, Neb., and Erwin, Oak Park, Ill.; one sister, Mrs.
Walter Erdmann, city; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Pentzien was a member of the Modern Woodman lodge.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Wattawa, Urbanek & Schlei
Funeral home with the Rev. C.H. Phipps of the First Presbyterian church in
charge. Burial will be in Evergreen.
The body will be at the Wattawa, Urbanek & Schlei Funeral home which will be
open from 1 p.m. Sunday until the hour of the funeral. The casket will not be
opened.
