Arndt A. Pederson, 70, of rural Cato, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 19,
1988 at home in the loving arms of his wife, Julia, son, Richard and his daughters,
Judy, Jeannine and Joan. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at Faith Lutheran
Church, Valders. The Rev. Carl Peters, Rev. John Conrad and Deacon Bill Klein will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Pederson was born August 20, 1917 in the Town of Cato, son of the late A.
Cornelius and pearl Fehring Pederson. He attended Valders School graduating with
the Class of 1935. Mr. Pederson was the owner and operator of a repair shop in
Clarks Mills since 1953. He married Julia Mary Welch April 28, 1945 at St. Patrick
Church, Maple Grove. Mr. Pederson was the former Town Treasurer of the Town of Cato
serving for 20 years and was a substitute mail carrier for 17 years. He was a member
of Valders American Legion Post since 1945, serving as Commander in 1946 and a
member of Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery and Grounds Committee-Maintenance. Mr.
Pederson was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from July 8, 1941
until September 5, 1945 serving with the 12th Bomb Group holding the rank of Staff
Sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Allen (Terry) Pederson
of rural Valders; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Pederson and her husband,
John Schmidt of Madison, Jeannine and Tim Vetting of Rockford, Illinois; Joan and
Randy Schiden of Manitowoc; a brother, ? Pederson of rural Manitowoc; a sister,
Mrs. Norbert (Violet) Kustka of rural Cato; nine grandchildren; other relatives
and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Marie in 1950.
Friends may call at Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, 6 pm to 9 pm Thursday
and Friday from 10 am until the time of services at the church.
