BERNARD C. PANKRATZ

Bernard C. Pankratz, 82, of 420 Reed Ave., Manitowoc, died Sunday at Holy
Family Extended Care Facility, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. James R. DeWitt will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Pankratz was born Dec. 3, 1892, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Joseph
and Theresa Koerner Pankratz. He was a veteran of World War I, serving as a
sergeant in the Quartermaster Corps of the U.S. Army. He married Hilda Einberger
Sept. 4, 1922, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clark Mills, settling at Valders,
later moving to Chesterville, Canada, and back to Valders.
Mr. Pankratz was a superintendent of the Nestle Milk Plants in Wisconsin,
Michigan and Canada. After he retired in 1958, the couple moved to Manitowoc.
They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1972. Survivors include his
wife, four sons, (private), a daughter, (private); two brothers, Max, of Valders
and Hugo, of Appleton; two sisters. Mrs. Mary Roland, of Manitowoc and Mrs.
Minnie Christel of Valders; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Three
brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral
Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
