Joseph L. Pankratz, 87, of 910 Green St., Manitowoc, died Thursday at
Manitowoc County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. D. L.
Krembs will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Pankratz was born June 12, 1881, in the Town of Cato, son of the late
Joseph and Theresa Koerner Pankratz. He married Elsie M. Kolwey at
Osman Oct. 9, 1906, and the couple lived at Alverno, Valders and Reedsville
before locating at Manitowoc in 1925. She died Jan. 15,1966. Before
retiring 12 years ago Mr. Pankratz had worked as a steamfitter for the H.G.
Kallies firm of Manitowoc. He was an honorary member of the Fraternal
Order of Eagles No. 706, and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include a son, Glenn J., of Buffalo, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs.
Eldred Herrmann and Mrs. Ralph G. Klein of Manitowoc; three brothers,
Hart of Clover, Max of Valders and Hugo of Appleton; three sisters,
Mrs. George Reuther of Detroit, Mrs. Mayme Rolland of Clark Mills
and Mrs. Minne Christel of Valders; 15 grandchildren and 29 great
grandchildren. A son preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where at 8 o’clock this Friday
evening the Rosary will be recited.
