Luella A. Larson, age 96, a resident of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died
Thursday afternoon, October 1, 1998, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center,
Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 1998, at St.
Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Robert Simensen will officiate with burial to
follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Luella Shimek was born October 7, 1901, in Manitowoc, daughter of
the late Lewis and Appoline Benishek Shimek. Luella graduated from the old
Washington High School in 1919 and the Manitowoc Teacher Training School in
1920. She taught in Manitowoc County schools from 1920 to 1926. She was married
to Milton Larson in 1928 in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1954. She
was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Womens
Courage Circle, and the Church's Snip and Sew Group.
Survivors include one son, James Larson, Saginaw, Mich.; one daughter-in-law,
Audrey Larson, Madison; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Other
relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son,
Thomas Larson; and one daughter-in-law, Florence Larson; seven brothers and
sisters.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church on Wednesday,
October 7, 1998, from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
