Alois William Kuehlman, 706 S. Shawano St., New London, age 70, passed away at
3:30 pm Tuesday, at a local hospital, after a lingering illness. He was born
July 11, 1895 in Rozellville, Wis. He was employed by the Chicago and
Northwestern Railroad as an operator and agent for 46 years prior to his
retirement in 1960. He was married to the former Carrie Feuerpfeil on Nov. 15,
1922 in Menominee, Mich., and was a resident of New London since 1937.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 263 and the World War I Barracks;
a member of First Methodist Church, New London and the Men's Club; a veteran
of World War I having served with the Navy. Mr. Kuehlman is survived by his
wife, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (June) J. Gorsse, Albuquerque, N.M.; one son,
James E., Appleton; two brothers, John, Ironwood, Mich., Ray, Wausau; two
sisters, Mrs. J.B. Clark, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Walter Reed, Stevens Point;
two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday from the Kircher Funeral Home,
New London, with the Rev. Wesley L. Sharpe officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the Kircher Funeral Home
after 2 pm Thursday until the hour of the service.
