WILHELMINA (DICKE) HUEBNER

MRS. HUEBNER DIES AT NOON
Mother of Two Professors Was 80 Years Old (Photo)
Mrs. Minnie Huebner, 80, widow of the late Fred A. Huebner, and
mother of Professors Solomon and Grover Huebner of the University
of Pennsylvania, died this noon at the home, 836 North 11th street.
She had been ill for a week.
Death of Mrs. Huebner removes a pioneer from this county who resided
here since she was a small girl. Born Miss Minnie Dicke, in Sheboygan
Falls, Dec. 2, 1852, she came to this country with her parents a few
years later. She was married here Nov. 14, 1875, to Fred A. Huebner.
They located on a farm four miles north of the city. Here they made
their home until Mr. Huebner retired to locate at the present homestead
on North 11th street. He died in 1920. Mrs. Huebner was a charter
member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and continued her
affiliation with the church ever since.
Two sons, Solomon Huebner and Grover Huebner, both holding chairs at
the University of Pennsylvania, and a sister, Mrs. James G. Lehmkuhl,
city, survive.
Funeral services cannot be completed until contact can be had with Prof.
Solomon Huebner who is on a lecture tour through the east. It is expected
to advise him by telegraph of the death of his mother by tonight.
Both sons are expected here for the funeral.
