Victor L. Chizek, 88, a resident of Green Bay, and formerly of 532 N. 10th St. Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 26, 2003 at his residence in Green Bay. Victor was born February 12, 1914 in Reif Mills, Wisconsin, to the late John and Katherine Cherney Chizek. He married Grace Kheil, April 7, 1936 in Manitowoc. Mrs. Chizek preceded him in death April 28, 1988. He was employed by Dick Bros. Bakery in Manitowoc, as a baker for 52 years. His memberships include Czech's of Norman, Wisconsin Czechs', and the Happy Hopper's Dance Club. Survivors include his dearest friend, Ann Gullo of Green Bay; his second family, all of Green Bay; JoAnn and Francis VandenAvon, Carl and Kim VandenAvon, Ann VandenAvon, Kevin Lardinois, Sandy and Jason Wyckoff, and Carlie Wyckoff; a special niece and nephew, Jean (Ray) Kolby and Joe Shimon, all of Manitowoc; two very close friends, Ruth Herlach and Steve Steinberger; also other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends survive. Preceded in death by his parents and wife, daughter, Nathaline Chizek, several brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the Harrigan Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Thursday 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc. Rev. David Pleier will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Ann and her family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff of Unity Hospice of Green Bay, and to Roger Eastman of Comfort Keepers.
