Funeral services for William R. Bruechert, 54, who died at the Holy Family
hospital Wednesday morning after a short illness, will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday from the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church. The Rev. Paul
Blaufuss will officiate and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home
from Friday noon to 10 a.m. Saturday when it will be moved to the church to
lie in state until the time of the funeral.
Mr. Bruechert, operator of Bill’s Tavern at 1516 Clark street, was born in
this city Oct. 21, 1888 and lived here all his life. On Feb. 17, 1923 he
married Miss Mary Scott.
Survivors are the widow; one son, Robert, city; two brothers, John and Max of
this city; and two sisters, Mrs. Alex Fischl, Sr., city, and Mrs. Ida Soll of
Milwaukee.
Mr. Bruechert was a member of the Drews post of the American Legion, of the
Oas post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of the Eagles.
