Mrs. Elizabeth W. Hathaway, who died at Assonet on the 4th inst., was one of the oldest residents in this vicinity, having reached the advanced age of 91 years and 8 months. Her maiden name was Tobey, and in her early years she resided, for a period, in western Massachusetts, but after marriage she settled here. Her husband died about fifty years ago, leaving her with six young children. One daughter, is the wife of Simeon Borden, Esq., Clerk of the Courts. Mrs. Hathaway enjoyed almost uninterrupted good health till within two years. About that time she moved to Assonet Village, Freetown, and there she died and was buried.
