Moulton--Pearl J. Bybee, 77, died Tuesday night, Oct. 24, 1961, at a Spencer hospital, where he had been taken after suffering a stroke Saturday while visiting at the home of a son, Robert, in Humboldt. Mr. and Mrs. Bybee had accompanied their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sellers to Humboldt. They were enroute to Spencer to spend the winter with the Sellers family and had stopped at Humboldt for a visit. While there, Mr. Bybee suffered the stroke, and was rushed on to the Spencer hospital. He had been in poor health since suffering a light stroke two years ago. Born in Davis County November 20, 1883, he was the son of Thomas and Sarah Smith Bybee. He was married to Cecil Hope Zellers in Ottumwa in 1905. They lived for a time in Ottumwa, then moved to Moulton. Mr. Bybee had been employed by the Wabash railroad and had operated a grocery store with his son, Clint. Surviving are his wife, Cecil; one daughter, Hope Sellers; and three sons, Clint of Bossier City, LA, Robert of Humboldt, and Forrest of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren; one brother, Bert of Brookshire, Texas, and two sisters, Daisy Catherall and Blanche Horn of Moulton. One grandson preceded him in death. The body is being returned to the Eagle Funeral Home here (Moulton). Funeral plans will be announced later.
