Abraham was a 53 year old man whose upper body was crushed when he was caught under a train. Sharpsburg's trains caused many deaths over the years, signifying that the passage of the trains and their loading at various businesses was quite a hazard for those that lived in the town. The informant for the death certificate knew that his father's name was Jacob, but no other personal information was on the death certificate. He is probably the son of Jacob Gift and Martha Frayer of Etna. George Gift, buried in Section 5 as a Civil War soldier, would then be his brother. They were 2 of 7 known children of Jacob. Abraham was interred on October 15, 1908 from the Holzheimer & Bock Funeral Home.
