MORRIS-- Mrs. Ruth Light Backus, 72, wife of former Assemblyman Chester Backus died Monday at her home on Main Street after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Morris Methodist Church. The Rev. Wilfred Lyon, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Hillington Cemetery.
Mrs Backus was born Feb. 12, 1882, in Morris, daughter of Charles and Sarah (Morse_ Light. She was married to Mr. Backus on June 23, 1921. She taught school in Morris for about 25 yours and was a member of the Morris Methodist Church and of the WSCS. She was also a member of Tianderah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband: one sister, Mrs. Albert Morris: and several nieces and nephews,
