HANGS HIMSELF WITH SUSPENDERS
CHRISTOPHER PRIES, DEMENTED SINCE FEBRUARY, FOUND DEAD BY WIFE
Christopher Pries was found hanging by his suspenders which had been wound around his neck in a clothes closet off his bedroom, by his wife shortly after noon yesterday at the family residence, 153 Madison Street, Carrollton. He had been slightly demented since February last due to senility and a close watch was kept on him. At noon his wife left for a few minutes when he slipped away and committed the deed.
He was born in Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany, Jan 8, 1832 and was united in marriage there in 1869 to Miss Mary Heidenreich. Together they came to this country, settling in Carrollton for 39 years ago. He is survived by his wife and five children. Charles, Mrs. Wm. Nieman, Mrs. John Klein, Mrs. Ernest Winter all of Carrollton, Mrs. Fred Hayes of Chicago, also seven grandchildren: also his step father, Joachim Schultz, residing in Bridgeport: two half sister s and five half brothers, Mrs. Wm. Schomaker and Mrs. Jost Gerkenof, Bridgeport, Joseph, Wm., Christopher and Fred Schultz of this city ad John Schroder of this city. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Carrollton.
