Mary Magdalene Hohenshell was born in South Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, daughter of John Georg Hohenshell and Ann Maria Koder.

Mary was married on 22 May 1831, to Henry Weibel. Both were members of the U.B. church at Barren Run. To this union were born eleven children: Eliza, Joseph, Mary, Ann, Lydia, Levi, John, George, Jacob, Catherine, Henry and Elizabeth.

Henry and Mary lived on a farm below the U.B. church at Barren Run. In the year 1844 they moved to the farm near Glenwood which is known as at the time as the Weibel Homestead, where son George Washington Weibel lived for 82 years.

Mary (Hohenshell) Weibel died on 23 December 1894 at the home of her daughter, Mary Ann (Weibel) Hepler, aged 87 years, 5 months and 14 days.
