Major League Baseball Player. He began his professional career in 1939, mainly as a first baseman playing for the Chicago Cubs until 1942. After serving in World War II, he played for the Boston Red Sox in 1946 and 1947. In a six-season career, he played in 425 games, with 344 hits, 29 homeruns, 192 runs batted in and a .245 batting average.
