For the Register, From Bridgewater

Dear Register - With feelings of sincere regret we report the death of our townsman, Mr. Geo. W. Brady, who died on the 13th instant, and was buried on the 14th by the Odd Fellows and Good Templars of which organizations he was a worthy member. After impressive services conducted by Revs. Sam'l F. Sanger and Peter B. Miller, (both of the German Baptist Church) the Odd Fellows took charge of the remains and consigned them to the grave with the beautiful burial ceremony of the order.
Mr. Brady was an Orderly Sergeant in "Chew's Battery" and served four years; at the battle of Gettysburg he was offered promotion for conspicious gallantry, but declined. He leaves a wife and eight young children to mourn their loss.
At a meeting of Bridgewater Lodge, No. 120 I.O.O.F., held in Odd Fellows Hall, March 16th, 1886, the following resolutions and tribute of respect were unanimously adopted:
Less than eighteen months ago we dropped the sprig of evergreen into the grave of Past Grand A.L. Lindsey, and buried his out of sight.
To-night our lodge room is again draped in mourning, for another brother has "gone the way of the flesh." A feeling of sadness steals into our hearts as we contemplate the solemn thought ---"Who goes next?" In the prime of life, Bro. Geo. W. Brady has been summoned to cross the "Dark River" and try the realities of the unknown world. Let us hope that the soul which once animated the clay of our departed brother is now safe at rest, and that our loss is his eternal gain.
To those who were bound to him by the tender ties of relationship we would extend our heartfelt sympathies in their sore bereavement, and commit them to the fostering care of Him who has said He would be a "Father to the fatherless, and the widow's God."
Resolved, That in the death of Bro. Geo. W. Brady, Bridgewater Lodge, No. 120 I.O.O.F. lma lost a faithful member and a true Odd Fellow. His family a tender, loving husband and affectionate father. The community in which he lived a peaceable citizen and a kind neighbor.
Resolved, That the furniture of our lodge be draped in mourning and the members wear the usual badge for thirty days.
Resolved, That this tribute in his memory be recorded with the minutes of this meeting, a copy be furnished the family of our deceased brother, and that the several papers of our county be requested to publish the same. Submitted in F.L and T.D.A. Bucher, Sol. G. Driver, J.H. Colby, Committee.
