Death of Mrs. C. F. Beck of Stamford, Former Roman
Mrs. James L. Miller, 513 Mercer street, received a telegram late Monday afternoon from Stamford, Conn. Announcing the death there in a hospital at 4:30 o'clock of her sister, Mrs. Charles F. Beck, a former resident of Rome. Mrs. Beck underwent an operation last Thursday morning. Mrs. Beck was a native of Waterville. Her maiden name was Mary Connors, daughter of the late William and Mary Burk[e] Connors. She was twice married. Her first husband was Edward Jones of Waterville who died 32 years ago.

She was married to Mr. Beck in 1902[sic, 31 Dec 1901]. Stamford has been her home since that time. For several years previous to her marriage to Mr. Beck, she made her home in Rome. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Gladys G. Beck of Stamford. She also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Bogan of Waterville, Mrs. C. F. Larkin, and Mrs. Thomas Greenan of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Miller of Rome, and four brothers, Patrick Connors of Utica, Richard of Knoxboro, John of Philadelphia, Pa., and Edward of Utica. Mrs. Larkin was visiting Mrs. Miller at the time that word of their sister's death was received.
