Kalkaska - George W. Persons, 80 years old, after whom Persons' Point, Torch Lake, was named, died suddenly at his home here. He had lost both legs during the Civil War. [Published in "The Yale Expositor," Yale, Michigan, Page 2, Thursday, June 28th, 1919]

In March 1870 he married Mary V. Persons (B:~1848 in New York (her parents were from Canada)

Mary and George had the following known children:

Died at Clearwater, Michigan

Cause of death was Apoplexy; contributory Senile Degeneration, for 10 years and 10 months. He was buried on 12 June 1919.
