A native of Yancey County, NC; daughter of the late Jesse and Cordie Carpenter Biddix; widow of William Watson "Will" Hutcherson.

Survivors include sons, Harold Joe Hutcherson (1925–2006), Jesse Carold Hutcherson (1925–1999), Malcolm Hutcherson, and Billy Hutcherson; daughters, Coleen Melton, Lois Hutcherson Gilbert (1927–2006), Mary Merle Hutcherson Searcey (1931–2019), and Verle Scruggs; brother, Fred Biddix; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also predeceased by a sister, Agnes Hutcherson McNeely (1934–1979); and brothers, John Arthur Biddix (1901–1960), George Edward Biddix (1903–1965), Fred Thomas Biddix (1908–1987), Wylie Baxter Biddix (1913–1977), and William Steve Biddix (1915–1970).
Services were held at 3:00 pm, Monday, May 19, 1986, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel by the Rev. Clyde Greene; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
