Fannie Archer, 86, died Monday, April 18, in Paintsville Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Archer was born August 26, 1890, in Johnson County, the daughter of James W. and Martha Ann Stafford Auxier. She was a resident of Paintsville and a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, Dr. Ernest E. Archer, preceded her in death in 1934. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Roberts of Wittensville, Martha Ann Rapier of Paintsville and Emma Elizabeth Conley of Louisville; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hager, Mrs. Maxie Lavier and Mrs. Leona Newman all of Paintsville; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 21, in the Mayo United Methodist Church in Paintsville with Rev. Sam Glenn officiating. Burial was in the Mayo Cemetery with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday April 27, 1977
