Waldon was born September 2, 1915 at Rinard, IL to Charles and Edna Mae (Nichols) Gibbs. He married Seva Schultz May 28, 1966 at Flora, IL. She preceded him in death March 11, 2002.
Waldon was a retired Assistant Foreman in Shipping for Frantz Mfg. Company, at Sterling, IL. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of Cisne United Methodist Church.
Waldon is survived by his daughter Waldena Stewart; son Waldon Lee Gibbs; one step-son Clifford Ray Schultz; four step-daughters Janice Cawthorne; Bonnie Beyer; Marilyn Klingemann and Lynda Charleston. Twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren also survive.
Preceding him in death were one son Charles Stephen, one granddaughter, one great grandson, two sisters, three brothers, one half sister, his parents and wife.
Funeral services for Waldon Gibbs were held at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, IL. Father Ray Schultz will officiate.
Burial was in Cisne Cemetery with full military rites.
Memorials may be given to the Cisne United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home.
