JOHN FRANKLIN BAVA, 84 , of Davis, died Friday, April 11, 1997, in Davis Memorial Hospital, following a short illness. Mr. Bava was born April 8, 1913, at Thomas, a son of the late Pete and Lectie Lipscomb Bava. He was married to Lucille Cathern Luprece Rexrode Bava, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Juanita Stone, Cleveland, Tenn., and Janet Williams, Buckhannon; one brother, Joe Bava, Hendricks; two sisters, Mildred Bennett, Parsons, and Caroline Williams, Eleanor; seven grandchildren, Diana Stone, Melanie Stone, Steve Campbell, Cathy Allen and Cliff Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Todd Campbell, Toby Vernon, Travis Vernon, Jason Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, Jonathan Stone and Nathan Stone; nine nephews and five nieces. Mr. Bava was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was founder and pastor of Gorman Church of God for 27 years, a member of the Bayard Church of God and a retired minister of the Church of God. He was founder and owner of John Bava's Music, Panhandle Music and Cozy Record Label.
