Robert Lewis Zornado 70 of Killingly Dr. in Danielson, died unexpectedly in his home on August 9, 2006. He was born July 23, 1936 in Portland, Oregon. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was always proud to have served his country. After an Honorable Discharge, he married Josephine Asaro in 1956 and settled in San Diego, California. He worked for 30 years at the North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado, California. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Northeast Connecticut to be with family. He loved to play golf and play Bridge and shared his time on both coasts enjoying all his grandchildren. He was an Elks Lodge member in San Diego and in Killingly, CT and enjoyed volunteering his time. He was adored by his family and friends on both coasts and will be terribly missed. He is survived by his wife, Jo, his daughter Terri (Jackson), sons Robert and Joseph, and 6 grandchildren. He was a fortunate man. Funeral services were held in Danielson, CT on August 16, 2006. KILLINGLY - Robert L. Zornado of Killingly died on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006. He was the husband of Jo Zornado. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 at 12 noon at the Gagnon - Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson. There will be a calling hour on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Service.
