Walker O'Dell Renew
BARNWELL - Walker O'Dell Renew, 73, passed away on Monday October 10, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
O'Dell was born in Barnwell County on January 24, 1938. He was the son of the late Crimmins and Carrie Beaslely Renew. He formerly worked at ET Barwick and Shuron. He retired from Dixie Narco in Williston. He was famous for his tomato, squash and cucumber garden. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and a member of Hagood Ave. Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Hagood Ave. Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Catoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Mole Funeral Home.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty K. Renew of Barnwell; sons, David (Tassy) Renew, Jim Renew, and Danny Renew of Barnwell; stepsons, Billy (Harriet) Wooldridge and Doug Woolridge of Barnwell; daughter, Tammy Renew of Williston; stepdaughters, Crystal (Mike) Melton of Brooklet GA., Cheryl (Jerry) Smoak of Barnwell, SC; brother, Shellie Renew of Barnwell; sister, Marlene (Carlisle) Holden of Barnwell; fifteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Tim Renew, sister, Lois Carson and brothers, Wallace, Willie and Bobby Renew.
