Belle was born in Waresboro, Ware County, Georgia, the first child and daughter of Jeremiah Jackson and Nancy Rebecca (Hargraves) McDaniel. Though her headstone shows her birth date as 1882 the family bible record shows her birth as May 1, 1879. According to census records she was called Rose Bell as a child though her death certificate lists her name as Carrie Bell. On September 8, 1903, she became the second wife to John T. Wilson and step-mother to Ione Lista (McDonald) and Minnie Ella (Mullis). It appears from the gravestone, she had two daughters who died in infancy; Lillian who lived 16 months and Blanch who lived a short 6 months.
