Thomas B. Lee was born to Henry A. Lee and Polly (nee Driver) Lee. Born, April 15, 1839.

MOVED: From Baltimore, MD, to Joppa, Vermilion, OH in 1841.

WED: on Sept 13, 1858 to Olive Minkler.

MILITARY: frorm National Park Service, Civil Ware Soliders & Sailors System, served in 128 Ohio Infantry, Union, Company G, Rank of Pvt. (Film Number: M552, roll63). He is listed in the book, "Berline Township Veterans of Four Wards before 1900", published by Berlin Hts. Historical Society, 2002.

DIED: Tuesday morning, February 7, 1922

HISTORY: From the book, "History of Erie County"; "The Lee family came originally from Maryland. Thomas Lee's grandfather, Henry A. Lee, was born in the City of Balitmore, and was married there to Polly Driver. The children born to them in Baltimore were John, James and THOMAS. Then in 1841, this little family set out upon the long journey to a new home in Ohio. They were people in modest circumstances and all their worldy possessions were stowed upon a wagon drawn by a single horse. They went along the highways day after day before reaching their destination and camped out by the wayside. On arriving in Vermilion Township, they selected a place along the Joppa Road, & there in the wilderness, they exchanged their temporary abode in the wagon for the comforts and privations of a log cabin home."

From the newspaper, "Vermilion News", Feb 16, 1922; "BERLIN HEIGHTS: Thomas B. Lee, one of the pioneer residents of this section, passed away at his home Tuesday morning, Feb 7, aged 82 years, 89 months and 22 days. Mr Lee was of a study pionee stock and could be seen every day going to his farm at Joppa until a few weeds ago when he was taken sick. His many friends will miss his cheery greetings. He came to this country at the age of seven years, having been born near Baltimore, Maryland, April 15, 1839. On Sept 13, 1858, he was married to Miss Olive MInkler and to them was born four children, two of them, Mrs. H.E. (Lillian) Brundage, and Mrs. A. (Nellie) Shoop of Joppa, together with the aged wife and mother survive. Besides the above, there are also 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was one of the few remaining members of the G.A.R., having served his county during the Civil War."
