Mr. Herrington was the son of the late J.D. Herrington and the late Charlotte Hemby Herrington. He was a native of Simpson County and a resident of the Jackson area for more than 46 years. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and retired 14 years ago with the K Mart Company. He enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football but his family was most important. He looked forward to gathering each Sunday with his sons, their wives and grandchildren for family dinner.
Mr. Herrington is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice Herrington; sons, John (Tami) Herrington, Scott (Jennifer) Herrington and Jason (Bethani) Herrington and grandchildren, Christina, Sarah, Avery, Shelby, Brady, Jude, Elizabeth and Evan Herrington.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.
