Lewis started making his way west to Wisconsin after his marriage to Hannah, his first wife. In 1840 he was at Ashtabula, Ohio and in 1850 at Plymouth, Michigan.
After Lewis's death his widow removed to Ypsilanti, Michigan, and was there during the 1860 census with their son Corwin who was blind. There may have been other children.
