A Young Lady Dies After Months of Suffering
Miss Thurman, who was operated on for ovarian tumor at 2 p.m. on Sunday last, did yesterday afternoon at 5:05 O'clock.
Miss Blanche Thurman, the daughter of Mrs. S.F. Mount, of Prattsville, Sevier County, Utah, was first troubled with this complaint about twenty months ago. The tumor enlarged to such a size some months ago that the doctors of Sevier County, supposing that dropsy had set in, began treatment for that complaint. Finding that all the remedies administered by these doctors were of no avail, Mr. and Mrs. Mount brought their daughter to this city where Doctors Pike, Benedict, Hamilton and others discovered the true cause from which the young lady was suffering. An operation was made and the tumor, which weighted about thirty-five pounds, was removed. After the operation the patient rallied and appeared to feel quite well again until within about two hours of her death. Miss Thurman's age was 16 years and 8 months. She was well known at the St. Mary's Acadamy, where she attended school about six years ago.
The young lady was of a sweet and winning disposition and made many friends who will be as quick to show their sorrow at her death as they were to show their appreciation of her lovable qualifications in her life time.
