Michael Dwayne Whittaker, 43, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on August 3rd, 2012, at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was born, July 12, 1969, in Richmond, Kentucky, to his parents, Franklin Wayne and Tommie Ponder Whittaker. He was a Lowe's employee and worked as a vinyl siding sales representative. Dwayne was a Kentucky Colonel, an avid hunter, and he was a member of the Lancaster Road Church of God.

In addition to his parents, Franklin and Tommie, he is survived by one daughter, Kaylee Paige Whittaker of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother, Rickie Allen Edwards (Kim) of Richmond and one sister, Tracy Wayne Mayes (Tim) of Georgetown. He has three nieces, Ashley Edwards of Savannah, Georgia, McKenzie Edwards of Richmond, and Jamie Wells of Mt. Sterling; three nephews, Patrick Edwards of Savannah, Georgia, Matthew Goodpastor of Mt. Sterling, and Zachary Carraway of Richmond. He also leaves several aunts and one uncle, Doris Jean Upton of Arab, Alabama, Kathleen Ponder Howell of Richmond, Daphne Ponder of Richmond, Brenda and Jimmy Cain of Richmond and Vickie Rhodus of Richmond, as well as several cousins and many friends.
