Mrs. Grace Dean Waugh Gilreath, age 92, of Wilkesboro died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Avante Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 PM, August 8, 2012 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. John A. Speaks and Rev. Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorials Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
She was born May 20, 1920 in Wilkes County to John and Pauline Watkins Waugh. Before retiring, Mrs. Gilreath worked for Tyson Foods and as a domestic. She was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Green Gilreath; one son, Herbert Gilreath; two sisters, Bertha Mae Blackburn, Pansy Waugh; five brothers, John "Palmer" Waugh, Guy Waugh, Vernon Eugene Waugh, Carlson "Nute" Waugh and Laymon Vecue Waugh.
She is survived by: three daughters, Patsy Ruth Moore of Miami, FL, Peggy Pauline Gilreath of Wilkesboro, Grace Ella Williams of Los Angles, CA; three sons, Reggie Green Gilreath of Oakland, CA, John David Gilreath and wife, Lucy of Wilkesboro, Eric Maurice Gilreath of Oakland, CA; one sister, Iris Perez of Berkley, CA; two brothers, Thomas G. Waugh and wife, Ruby of Oakland, CA, Warner Waugh of Philadelphia, PA; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren.
